According to a new study, there’s no need to complicate things in order to lose weight – a simple approach might also do the trick.

And don’t worry – there’s no need to count every single calorie.

The new study, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, examined 240 obese adults with metabolic syndrome, creating a program that separated them into two diet groups:

  • the standard American Heart Association (AHA) diet
  • a high-fiber diet

To cut a long story short, participants from both groups roughly lost the same amount of weight, 4.6 pounds and 5.9, respectively.
