Broccoli And Pine Nuts Green Pasta

This aglio e olio (garlic and oil) pasta with addition of cooked broccoli and pine nuts is super easy and super tasty. You can make it with any kind of pasta and any green vegetables.


  • 1/2 pound fusilli
  • 1 1/2 pound broccoli
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted
  • 1/3 Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp pepper


  1. Cut broccoli into florets
  2. Bring large pot of salted water to a boil and blanch broccoli florets for about 3 minutes, then drain
  3. Add the pasta to boiling water and cook until al dente
  4. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a large skillet, add minced garlic and stir for about 1 minute, until lightly browned
  5. Add broccoli to the skillet and stir for about 2 minutes
  6. Drain the pasta and add to the skillet. Toss around until coated in olive oil.
  7. Add lemon juice and toss to coat
  8. Season pasta with salt and pepper
  9. Transfer to a platter and sprinkle with toasted pine nuts and Parmesan cheese (optional)
