Greens With Cannellini Beans And Pancetta

You can eat it as a main dish or you can make a side dish out of it; one thing is for sure – Greens with Cannellini beans and pancetta is one tasty treat that will soon become regular part of your rotation.


  • 2 slices pancetta or bacon, chopped
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small red onion, chopped
  • 1 bunch beet greens, roughly chopped
  • salt to taste
  • 1 (15 ounce) can cannellini beans, drained
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 bunch kale, roughly chopped


  1. Microwave the pancetta on high for three minutes. Drain the fat and set it aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large frying pan. Cook onions till soft. Add crushed garlic and cook for another minute. Stir in the greens and season with salt (remember, you don’t have to add as much salt as you would usually because the bacon is already salty.)
  3. Cover the pan partially and cook until your greens start wilting.
  4. Add pancetta and cannellini beans. Cook for another 5 minutes, partially covered. When the greens are tender, serve.
