Super Easy Hummus Recipe

Hummus is the king of Middle Eastern dips and a must on any mezzeh table. You can even make a sandwich with it!

Hummus is a favorite in vegetarian and vegan diets all over the world because it serves as a complete protein when eaten with bread. It’s high in iron and vitamin C. Chickpeas are a great source of protein and fiber.


  • 7 oz (200g) canned chickpeas
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp tahini (optional)
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika


  1. Rinse and drain the chickpeas
  2. Put all ingredients in a food processor and blend until creamy
  3. Add more lemon juice, garlic or salt to the tast
  4. Pour into a small bowl and sprinkle with pepper and pour olive oil over the top
  5. Start dipping!
