21 Most Common Grocery Store Mistakes

10. Always Avoiding Frozen Produce

Let’s get one thing out of the way right now, just so there are no misunderstandings later – fresh food will always be the preferred choice over frozen food. It is fresher, it is tastier and it is healthier for you. However, there is no reason to get carried away and avoid frozen food altogether.

The truth is that in most cases produce is fresh-frozen these days, meaning that pretty much all of the nutrients are conserved. When you consider how long frozen veggies will keep, sometimes it is just a smart practice to buy frozen, especially if we are talking “filler” veggies that you add to dishes for volume more than taste.

Buying frozen will not only make sense because of the expiration dates, but also from the financial standpoint as frozen produce is often many times cheaper than fresh produce.
