Spirulina is a dark green algae that is usually sold and consumed as a powder that can be added to dishes, smoothies and juices. It has been in hype for many years now and, judging from the L.A. health food community, it is not going anywhere.The reason for spirulina’s popularity is that it is packed with protein.
